Participants will learn carpentry, electrical skills, home repair, and concrete work. The program also includes training in conflict management, emotional regulation, anti-violence strategies, and practical life skills like budgeting and money management.

What is the compensation for participants?
Youth will receive a weekly stipend of $15 per hour during the 26-week program.

Referrals come from various sources, including local community programs and agencies, or through direct applications.
What are the program hours?
During the school year, hours are Monday to Friday, 4pm to 8pm. Summer hours are 10am to 2pm.
What are the expectations for attendance?
Consistent attendance is required. Missing more than 4 sessions necessitates a corrective action plan, with potential removal from the program for non-compliance.
What are the safety and discipline policies?
The program follows OSHA guidelines for tool safety and enforces strict rules against the use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Violations may lead to suspension or expulsion based on the severity and frequency of infractions.
What additional support does the program offer after completion?
Graduates who complete the program will receive a certificate of completion, with post- program follow-ups to assess progress. The program also facilitates linkages to vocational schools and union memberships as interests in trades develop.
How are meals and transportation handled?
Participants are transported to and from centralized pickup points. Nutritious snacks and meals are provided during program hours, adhering to the USDA guidelines, in partnership with Catholic Social Services Nutritional Development Services.
